Editorial policy

TaxMetria is built around one principle: quality-controlled expansion. We add new jurisdictions and major pages only when the underlying tax data is verified against primary sources and the calculation tests pass.

What we do

  • Source every rate from a primary government authority.
  • Maintain a versioned fact registry — every material number is a structured record with source, reviewer, and release ID.
  • Run unit, boundary, golden, property, and cross-surface tests before release.
  • Make the methodology, sources, and assumptions visible on every page.
  • Show a calculation audit trail for every result.
  • Record corrections publicly with the date, release, and severity.
  • Reject silent approximations — when the model can't answer, it says so.
  • Reject "best country" or relocation recommendations — taxes alone don't determine outcomes.

What we do not do

  • Copy wording, design, code, or data from competitors.
  • Set rates from blog posts, search snippets, or AI-generated answers.
  • Publish all 6,105 country pairs in a comparison grid.
  • Add fake ratings, fabricated review counts, or invisible FAQ markup.
  • Use scaled content to manipulate rankings.
  • Run advertising on the calculator.
  • Send salary inputs to analytics or third parties.

AI assistance disclosure

AI tools assist with research scaffolding, code review, and structural drafting. They do not approve tax facts. Every rate, threshold, and bracket is verified by a human reviewer against the primary source. The reviewer is named on the data record and on the source registry page.

We do not publish AI-generated content as a substitute for editorial judgment. When AI surfaces a candidate answer or calculation, we treat it as research output to verify — not as authoritative.

Privacy & data collection

Salary inputs are computed in the browser and not transmitted to a server. We do not use third-party analytics on the calculator itself. Server logs are retained for 30 days for debugging and security.

If you opt in to "Remember on this device", we store the gross income and jurisdiction in your browser's localStorage — never on a server. Clear your browser storage to wipe.

Crawler policy

  • Googlebot and Bingbot are allowed on approved production pages.
  • OAI-SearchBot is allowed, so the calculator can be cited by ChatGPT search answers.
  • GPTBot is allowed by default. If you want to opt out, see robots.txt — the owner can flip the policy at any time.
  • Staging and previews are blocked from indexing with noindex, X-Robots-Tag, and authentication where applicable.

Monetization

At launch, TaxMetria runs no advertising and accepts no payment for ranking, tax outcomes, or editorial conclusions. When contextual sponsorship or affiliate programs are added, they will be clearly disclosed on the page and separated from the calculation.
